The cargo turnover at Turkish Antalya International Airport has decreased from January through April 2021, the country’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period this indicator made up 19,402 tons, down 25 percent compared to the same period of last year.
During the first 4 months of 2021, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 9,191 tons, and on international – 10,211 tons (decrease of 13 percent and 33 percent compared to 4M2020, respectively).
Passenger traffic at the airport made up over 1.7 million, which is 25 percent less over the year. Of these, 935,085 passengers were served on domestic flights (28-percent reduction), while 817,797 passengers - on international flights (down 22 percent).
The ministry also noted that the number of performed flights was 17,494, which is 15 percent less year on year.
Meanwhile, 11,274 flights were carried out on domestic lines (decrease by 15 percent), and 6,220 - on international lines (26-percent drop).
From January through April 2021, the volume of cargo transportation through all Turkish airports has exceeded 23.8 million passengers, and the cargo turnover made up 833,242 tons, added the ministry.
