The demand for Turkish carpets has grown in global markets since the beginning of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.
According to the ministry, Turkey increased the export of carpets by 55.1 percent in the first 5 months of this year compared to the same period of last year - up to over $1.3 billion.
In May 2021, Turkey’s export of carpets made up over $245.5 million, which is 109 percent more compared to the same month of 2020.
Over the past 12 months (from May 2020 through May 2021), Turkey’s carpet exports totaled over $3.07 billion.
