Cargo transportation via Turkish Trabzon Airport slightly down

The volume of cargo transported via the Turkish Trabzon Airport from January through May 2021 slightly decreased, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 5,125 tons, which is decline of 2 percent on annual basis.

During the mentioned period, the volume of cargo transportation on domestic flights amounted to 4,996 tons (increase of 4 percent year on year), and on international - 129 tons (decrease of 69 percent), the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the passenger traffic at the mentioned airport amounted to 608,824 people, which is decrease of six percent year on year. At the same time, the passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 604,071 people (decrease by 4 percent), on international – 7,753 people (decrease by 71 percent), noted the ministry.

Besides, the number of flights performed from the airport was 10,521, rise of 13 percent compared to 5M2020. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 10,040 (growth of 24 percent), on international - 481 (decrease of 60 percent).

In the first 5 months of 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 29.4 million people, and the volume of cargo transportation – 1.05 million tons.
