Azerbaijan boosts chemicals imports from Turkey

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

The export of chemical products from Turkey to Azerbaijan increased by 61.4 percent from January through May 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, and amounted to $182.4 million, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.

In May 2021, the export of chemicals from Turkey to Azerbaijan decreased by 42.9 percent compared to May 2020, settling at $28 million, the ministry said.

Turkey increased the export of chemical products by 34.9 percent from January through May 2021 compared to the same period of 2020 - up to $9.59 billion.

In May 2021, Turkey exported chemical products worth $2.13 billion, which is 80.5 percent more compared to May 2020, the ministry said.

As the ministry added, over the past 12 months (from May 2020 through May 2021), the value of chemicals exports from Turkey totaled over $20.7 billion.
