Cargo turnover of Turkish Trabzon Airport increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 9

The cargo turnover of the Turkish Trabzon Airport amounted to 7,181 tons from January through June 2021, which is 13 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During this period, the airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 6,589 tons (an increase of 17 percent on annual basis), on international flights - 322 tons (a decrease of 37 percent).

“At the same time, passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 837,847 people, a decrease of 12 percent. The passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 822,648 people (a decrease of 13 percent), on international – 15,199 people (a decrease of 23 percent),” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the number of flights carried out by the airport during the reporting period reached 7,397, which is 37 percent more compared to the same period of last year. The number of flights performed on domestic lines was 6,641 (an increase of 34 percent), on international lines - 756 (a growth of 75 percent).

From January through June 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to over 40.2 million people, and the cargo turnover – 1.33 million tons.
