Turkey unveils latest data on chemicals shipment via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 16

Over 9.25 million tons of chemical products were transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through July 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During this period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 952,647 tons of chemicals through domestic ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – nearly 8.3 million tons.

At the same time, 313 tons of chemical products were transited via the ports of Turkey.

Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
