Turkey records growth in Trabzon Airport's cargo turnover for 7M2021

The cargo turnover at Turkish Trabzon Airport has notably grown from January to July 2021, Turkey's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on August 24.

According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 13,733 tons, up by 62 percent on annual basis.

In the first seven months of this year, the cargo turnover on domestic flights via the airport reached 11,195 tons (an increase of 45 percent compared to the same period of 2020) while on international flights was 2,538 tons (rise of 242 percent).

During the reporting period, passenger traffic at the airport exceeded 1.23 million people, which is 32 percent more than from January through July 2020. Some 1.15 million passengers were served on domestic flights (a 27-percent increase), while 80,781 passengers - on international flights (a 187-percent rise).

Meanwhile, according to the ministry, the number of flights was 10,378, which is by 48 percent more year on year.

At the same time, 8,954 domestic flights (increase by 40 percent) and 1,424 international flights (growth by 138 percent) were made.

Some 57.3 million passengers and 1.7 million tons of cargo have been transported through all Turkish airports from January through July 2021, added the ministry.
