As many as 68,394 cars were delivered from the Turkish port of Tuzla to the Italian port of Trieste from January through August 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
As reported, 66,472 vehicles were transported in the opposite direction (from Trieste to Tuzla).
Thus, the total number of vehicles transported between the two ports during the specifying period amounted to 134,866 vehicles.
At the same time, Turkish ports handled a total of over 1.34 million vehicles, the ministry said.
Ro-Ro ships delivered 519,300 vehicles to Turkish ports during the reporting period.
From January through August 2021, 826,253 vehicles were sent from the ports of Turkey by Ro-Ro ships.
Turkish ports handled 156,840 vehicles in total in August of this year. In this month, Ro-Ro ships delivered 47,278 vehicles to Turkish ports, and 109,562 vehicles were transported from the Turkish ports.
