Turkey reveals data on cargo, passenger traffic at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport

The cargo turnover of Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport from January through August 2021 increased by 63 percent and amounted to 69,394 tons, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports via Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

The cargo turnover on domestic flights totaled 47,493 tons from January through August 2021, which is an increase of 81 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, on international flights - 21,901 tons (an increase of 34 percent).

Passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 4.5 million people from January through August 2021, which is 25 percent more than over the same period of 2020.

Passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 3.5 million people (an increase of 20 percent), on international flights – about 1 million people (an increase of 44 percent).

The number of flights performed was 35,585, which is 20 percent more than in the same period last year, the Ministry said.

The number of domestic flights performed was 26,879 (an increase of 17 percent), international flights - 8,706 (an increase of 29 percent).

From January through August 2021, passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 75.5 million people, and cargo turnover – about 2 million tons.
