Turkey shares data on cargo shipments via its Aliaga port

The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Aliaga amounted to 44.8 million tons in 9M2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, 1.9 million tons of cargo were transported by ships under the Turkish flag through the Aliaga port, while 44.8 million tons were transported by ships under the flags of other countries.

The ministry said that the Turkish port of Aliaga handled 118,542 tons of transit cargo during the period under review.

It is noted that the ports of Turkey handled 286.3 million tons of cargo in total since beginning of 2021.

In particular, during the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 22.2 million tons.

Also, cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons.

In addition, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled over 57 million tons of transit cargo.

In September 2021, the ports of Turkey in total handled 32.8 million tons of cargo.

It is noted that cargo transportation through the ports by ships under the Turkish flag in September 2021 amounted to 2.4 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

According to the ministry, Turkish ports handled 6.9 million tons of transit cargo in September 2021.
