Ministry unveils volume of cargo from China transported through Turkish ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28

Some 8.7 million tons of cargo from China were transported through the Turkish ports from January through November 2021, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend on Dec. 28.

Moreover, 69,049 tons of cargo from China were delivered to the ports by ships flying the Turkish flag while 8.6 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

During the reporting period, ships flying Chinese flag delivered 55,897 tons of cargo to the Turkish ports.

Some 1.9 million tons of cargo from China were transited through the Turkish ports from January through November 2021.

Moreover, 350.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports from January through November 2021.

During the reporting period, 27.4 million tons cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the domestic ports.

Some 322.9 million tons of goods were shipped through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Moreover, 70.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period, the ministry said.

The Turkish ports as a whole handled 31.5 million tons of goods in November 2021.

Some 2.3 million tons of cargo were transported through domestic ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 29.1 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries in November 2021.

Thus, 7.001 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in November 2021.
