Some 237 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey in 2021, which is by 89 companies more than in 2020, the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TOBB) told Trend.
The total capital of the Azerbaijani companies registered in Turkey in 2021 reached 63.2 million Turkish liras ($4.7 million), while in 2020 this figure was 33.9 million Turkish liras ($2.5 million).
Most of the companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Istanbul (207). Their total capital amounted to 56.4 million Turkish liras ($4.2 million).
Some 99 companies out of the total number of registered companies operate in wholesale and retail trade, 25 - in transport and logistics, 21 - in the industrial sector, 12 - in tourism, 12 - in the sale of real estate, 12 - in construction, one - in the mining sector, two - in agriculture.
"The rest of the companies with Azerbaijani capital are involved in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The aggregate capital of 99 wholesale and retail companies registered in 2021 amounted to 21.6 million Turkish liras ($1.6 million).
Some 148 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey in 2020. At the same time, 126 such companies with a total capital of 21.2 million Turkish liras ($1.6 million) were registered in Istanbul.
