Turkey discloses freight traffic via its ports from Belgium in 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 10

Turkish ports handled 11,670,171 tons of cargo from Belgium in 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

Ships under the Turkish flag delivered 61,698 tons of freight from Belgium to domestic ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – 11,582,871 tons.

During this period, Belgian-flagged vessels transported 25,602 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

At the end of 2021, Turkish ports handled 861,189 tons of transit cargo from Belgium.

In general, Turkey transported 386,396,718 tons of cargo in 2021 via its ports.

During the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through domestic ports amounted to 29,999,196 tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries reached 356,397,522 tons.

In addition, Turkish ports transshipped 78,008,944 tons of transit cargo in 2021, while in December this figure totaled 7,224,39 tons of transit cargo.

Freight traffic via the ports by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2,551,203 tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries - 32,893,234 tons.

Last December, Turkish ports handled 35,444,437 tons of cargo.
