BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Ports of Turkiye handled 492,017 tons of cargo from Albania in the first five months 2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 6,276 tons of cargo from Albania to local ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries - 411,017 tons.
Albanian-flagged ships delivered 73,954 tons of cargo to Turkish ports during this period. Turkish ports handled 50,553 tons of transit cargo from Albania from January through May 2022.
Turkish ports handled 33.4 million tons of cargo in May 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye through local ports amounted to 2.3 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 31.07 million tons.
