BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Turkish port of Aliaga handled 29.3 million tons of cargo from January through May 2022, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkiye told Trend.
According to the ministry, 1.1 million tons of cargo was transported by ships under the flag of Turkiye through the port of Aliaga, and 28.1 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"Turkish port of Aliaga handled 172,845 tons of transit cargo from January through May 2022," ministry added.
Turkish ports handled 33.4 million tons of cargo in May 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye through local ports amounted to 2.3 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 31.07 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 7.5 million tons of transit cargo in May 2022.
Turkish ports handled 164.2 million tons of cargo from January through May 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye amounted to 11.4 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 152.8 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 35.2 million tons of transit cargo from January through May 2022.
The ports of Turkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 356.3 million tons in 2021.
