Türkiye reveals volume of chemical products transshipment via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 21. A total of 2.27 million tons of chemical products were transshipped through the ports of Türkiye from January through February 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

During this period, ships flying the flag of Türkiye transported 138,807 tons of chemical products, while ships flying the flag of other countries handled 2.13 million tons of chemicals.

Moreover, some 27,086 tons of chemicals were transited from January through February 2023.

Overall, Turkish ports handled 27.5 million tons of cargo in February 2023.

During this period, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 2.2 million tons of cargo via the local ports, while those flying the flags of other countries - 25.3 million tons.

A total of 5.6 million tons of transit cargo were transshipped via Turkish ports in February 2023.

Furthermore, the Turkish ports handled 59.6 million tons of cargo from January through February 2023.

During the mentioned period, the vessels flying Turkish flags transported 4.1 million tons of cargo, whereas the ships flying the flags of other countries handled 55.4 million tons of cargo through the Turkish ports.

A total of 12.1 million tons of transit cargo were shipped through the Turkish ports from January through February 2023.
