BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. A total of 215 companies with Russian capital were registered in Türkiye in February 2023 which is 184 more than in February 2022, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
It was noted that along with the number of registered companies, their total capital also increased.
"During the reporting period, the total capital of Russian companies registered in Türkiye amounted to 390.3 million Turkish lira ($20.4 million), while for the same period in 2022, this figure was 75.1 million Turkish lira ($3.9 million)," said the statement.
In February 2023, the majority of Russian companies (114) were registered in Istanbul.
"The total capital of Russian companies registered in Istanbul equaled 148.8 million Turkish lira ($7.7 million)," said the statement.
Of the total number of companies with Russian capital registered in Türkiye in February 2023, 117 companies operate in the wholesale and retail trade, and 16 companies are engaged in the manufacturing sector. The total capital of Russian wholesale and retail trading companies registered in Türkiye amounted to 23.6 million Turkish lira ($1.2 million).
The remaining companies are involved in other sectors of the economy.
