Volume of cargo transported from England to Turkish ports last year revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 5. Türkiye transported 5.7 million tons of cargo from England in 2023, Trend reports, referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

The data of the ministry shows that Turkish-flagged vessels delivered 26,600 tons of cargo to ports from England, and vessels under the flags of other countries - 5.67 million tons.

The vessels under the flag of England delivered 36,990 tons of cargo to the ports of Türkiye from January through December 2023. A total of 1.1 million tons of transit cargo were transported to Turkish ports from England in the same period.

From January through December 2023, Turkish ports received 392 million tons of cargo (29.3 million tons by Turkish-flagged vessels and 362.4 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries).

According to the information, from January through December 2023, 66.7 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.

In December 2023, the ports of Türkiye received 36.4 million tons of cargo.

During this period, the intake of cargo to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.7 million tons.

"Cargo transportation by vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 33.6 million tons," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, in December 2023, 5.2 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports.

From January through December 2023, the ports of Türkiye received 60,195 vessels.

According to the information, during this period Turkish ports accepted 40,918 vessels under the flags of other countries and 19,277 vessels under the flag of Türkiye.

In December last year, the ports of Türkiye received 4,697 vessels (3,190 vessels under the flags of other countries and 1,507 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
