BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. Türkiye's Mersin port received 40,681,219 tons of cargo from January through December 2023, Trend reports, referring to Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, 2,434,532 tons of cargo were transported from Mersin port by vessels under the flag of Türkiye, while 38,246,687 tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other countries.
"Türkiye's Port Mersin transported 277,540 tons of transit cargo from January through December 2023," the ministry informed.
Meanwhile, Türkiye's ports received 391,717,308 tons of cargo from January through December 2023.
Receiving cargo from vessels flying under the flag of Türkiye from January through December 2023 amounted to 29,299,350 thousand tons. Cargo shipments to Türkiye's ports by vessels under the flags of other countries amounted to 362,417,958 tons.
However, Türkiye's ports transported 66,735,403 tons of transit cargo from January through December 2023.
Türkiye ports received 36,375,497 tons of cargo in December 2023.
During this period, the reception of cargoes to domestic ports by vessels flying under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 2,739,933 tons.
Cargo transportation of vessels flagged by other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 33,635,564 tons.
In addition, a total of 5,238,880 tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in December 2023.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 60,195 vessels from January through December 2023 (40,918 vessels under the flags of other countries and 19,277 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
The ports of Türkiye received 4,697 vessels in December last year (3,190 vessels under the flags of other countries and 1,507 vessels under the flag of Türkiye).
