Türkiye tallies volume of cargo transportation from Spain to its ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Around 2.98 million tons of cargo were transported from Spain to Türkiye's ports from January through March 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry, vessels under the Turkish flag delivered 462,273 tons of cargo to its ports from Spain, while vessels under the flags of other countries - 2.5 million tons.

During this period, 5,300 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by Spanish-flagged vessels. A total of 303,712 tons of transit cargo were transported to Turkish ports from Spain from January through March 2024.

Besides, the ports of Türkiye received 36.6 million tons of cargo in March 2024.

Cargo traffic to inland ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.9 million tons during this period.

Meanwhile, cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 33.7 million tons.

Additionally, a total of 5.6 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in March 2024.

The data from the ministry shows that Türkiye's ports received 102.7 million tons of cargo from January through March 2024.

The cargo flow of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 7.7 million tons. However, cargo traffic by vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 95 million tons.

The information shows that 16.8 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through March 2024.

Ports of Türkiye received 4,834 vessels in March 2024.

According to the information, during this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,324; the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye was 1,510.

To note, Türkiye's ports received 13,718 vessels from January through March 2024.

"During this time, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Türkiye's ports amounted to 9,372, and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 4,346," the statement of the ministry says.
