Türkiye counts volume of country's foreign trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 29. The foreign trade turnover of Türkiye reached $55.8 billion in May this year, the statement of Türkiye's Trade Ministry said, Trend reports.

The ministry noted that Türkiye's exports totaled 24.06 billion in May 2024, increasing by 11.3 percent compared to the same month in 2023, while imports decreased by 10.4 percent to $30.5 billion.

"Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $250.5 billion from January through May this year," the statement from the ministry said.

The ministry also noted that Türkiye's exports rose 4.5 percent from January through May 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, to $106.8 billion, while imports fell 9.2 percent to $143.6 billion.

To note, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $617.5 billion last year.

However, Türkiye's exports totaled $255.7 billion in 2023, up 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while imports decreased 0.5 percent to $361.7 billion.
