William Fallon has expressed hope that Turkey will not launch a military operation to crack down on outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) bases in northern Iraq. "We are trying to convince the Turks that this is not a good idea," Fallon was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency on Wednesday while responding to questions from the members of the U.S. House of Representatives committee on armed services.
