Turkish prime minister meets Iran's top nuclear envoy

( Cihan ) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday received Ali Larijani, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, at Prime Ministry.

Erdogan and Larijani, who arrived in Ankara earlier today to resume talks on his country's nuclear activities with the EU, came together at a working luncheon.

The meeting was closed to press members.

Iranian top nuclear envoy will meet the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana later in the afternoon at Swissotel Ankara.

Today's gathering is the first such meeting between the EU and Iran since the latest UN sanctions adopted after Tehran refused to halt uranium enrichment work.

On Thursday, Larijani will also meet Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul and Yigit Alpogan, Secretary General of Turkey's National Security Council.
