Earthquakes measuring 4.1 and 4.3 on the Richter scale, occurred near the city of Gerash in the Iranian Fars province on Jan.22, iribnews website reported.

The first earthquake occurred at 06:56 and the second at 07:02 local time. Moreover, an earthquake measuring 3.1 occurred in the Iranian city of Kermanshah on Jan.22 at 05:57 local time.

No casualties and damages reported.

Iran is located in one of the most active seismic zones in the world. There are several major tectonic faults in its territory which constitute at least 90 percent of the country's territory. For this reason, earthquakes occur often in Iran and in most cases are devastating.
