President of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang called Azerbaijan for more cooperation in oil and gas exploration at the meeting with the country’s Ambassador Anar Imanov in the city of Hanoi, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) News Agency reported Sept. 22.
Quang welcomed the establishment of the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Science and Technology Cooperation.
Vietnamese President Quang proposed studying and soon signing an agreement on education and training to further bolster cooperation in this field.
Azerbaijani ambassador in turn highlighted the important role played by the Vietnamese people who used to study or work in Azerbaijan in reinforcing the traditional relations between the two countries.
He said he hopes the first meeting of the intergovernmental committee scheduled for October 2016 will open up new opportunities for broader cooperation in the future.
