Ruslan Hadjiyev: causes for delaying extradition of Faik Mammadov not known to Prosecutor General’s office

В"The reasons due to which detained on 29 April in Moscow Faik Mammadov has not been yet extradited to Azerbaijan are not known to us”, the head of the international department of the Prosecutor General’s office of Azerbaijan Ruslan Hadjiyev told Trend.

The former deputy of the Baku executive power ex-head Rafael Allahverdiyev, Faik Mammadov was detained by the law enforcement bodies based on the appeals of the Prosecutor General’s office. The structure had forwarded relevant documents to the Russia’s Prosecutor General’ office on his extradition to Azerbaijan. Despite multiple official appeals the extradition did not take place. However, the head of the department has not ruled out that the extradition of Mammadov will take place shortly.

It should be noted, a criminal case was filed on 28 July 2004 against the Mammadov by the Nasimi district court and the search was announced aimed at his arresting. And in April 2005 he was detained in Moscow.
