Azerbaijan’s CEC sitting took place

The sitting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Azerbaijan took place on 4 November, Trend reports. The CEС secretary Vidadi Mahmudov reported, complaints addressed to the committee have been considered. Thus, a lot of them refer to issuing the identity cards. Besides, according to him, representatives of executive bodies are issued the observers’ certificates, which is unlawful. Mahmudov condemned also and called illegal establishing military commissions at the military units at the instruction of the commanders, which is, in his view, creates conditions for illegal usage of votes of militaries and on the whole may affect negatively the results of voting.

The CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov declined this report. The other CEC secretary Natig Mammadov said, the militaries are independent candidates, therefore, commissions may be formed from them, which is not contrary to the legislation.

Based on the reports of the secretaries, changes in the composition of the Djalilabad rural constituency N68 and Surahani 2-nd Constituency N31 have been made.

Then the CEC members Azer Tagiyev and Arzuman Alizade informed of the complaints to CEC in regard to the candidate from Nizami 2-nd constituency N25 Huseyn Abdullayev. According to complaints he grafts the commission members, the votes of electors, is engaged in charity activities in the prohibited period. The proposal to cancel his candidacy was put on voting, however, at the result of no consensus it did not pass.

Other complaints have been considered and relevant decisions have been taken.
