Baku 2015 European Games will next week host a spectacular light show in the city to mark 200 days to go until the Opening Ceremony of the inaugural sports event.
The Old City will host an eye-catching display that will light up the city on Monday 24 November to mark the significant date until the first European Games begins.
A stunning Baku 2015 display will be projected onto the iconic Maiden Tower at 20:00 to mark the occasion and a special announcement will also be made on the evening.
Mr Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports and Chief Executive Officer of Baku 2015, said: "As we approach just 200 days until the inaugural European Games begin, Baku and Azerbaijan is preparing to host an event that will become an important part of our country's sporting history.
"We will also be making a very special announcement that will capture the imagination of the entire country, and I would like to be able to share this historic moment with as many people as possible."
Residents of Baku are invited to attend the celebrations that will begin at 8pm and conclude with a spectacular light show finale.
Mr Simon Clegg, Chief Operating Officer of Baku 2015, said: "As we continue to count down the days until the Opening Ceremony, there is a tangible sense of excitement building weekly throughout the city.
"I would like to invite the people of Baku to come along and join in with our celebrations as we prepare to host Europe's elite athletes at Baku 2015 next year."
