Azerbaijan and Belgium sign MoU (PHOTO)

Baku, Azerbaijan, April 29

Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO),and The Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) of Belgium have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The signing ceremony took place in the framework of the Azerbaijani-Belgian business forum organized by AZPROMO supported by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan.

Along with officials from the two sides, the event was also attended by more than 50 entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture, consulting, food sector, industry, energy and other fields.

The Vice- President of AZPROMO Vidadi Guliyev provided extensive information about the economy of Azerbaijan. He noted that the Azerbaijani-Belgian economic relations are developing successfully. Some seven documents have been signed between the two states, and at present 19 companies with Belgian capital operate trade, construction, transport, communications, industry, etc. in Azerbaijan.

Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS countries of AWEX Dominic Turner providing information about the economy of Wallonia, stressed the importance of bilateral meetings and business forums to strengthen ties between businessmen of the two countries.

The adviser to AZPROMO chairman , Natig Madatov made a presentation on the business environment and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan. Furthermore, AWEX adviser on trade and investment in Turkey, Eric Bletard made a presentation on the country's economy and business opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

The business forum continued with bilateral meetings in which the possibilities of cooperation between entrepreneurs were discussed.
