Leasing operation volume increases in Uzbekistan

The total volume of leasing operations increased by 2.9 percent up to 850.1 billion soums in Uzbekistan in 2015 compared to 2014, Uzbekistan Lessors Association told Trend March 3.
As of March 4, the official exchange rate is 2856,64 soums /$ 1.

The aggregate portfolio of leasing operations in the country increased by 14.4 percent - up to 2.45 trillion soums during the reporting period.

Uzbek lessors concluded 5,600 transactions in 2015 versus 4,900 transactions a year earlier.
Agricultural equipment has the main share in the structure of leased property as of 2015.
Its share in the total transactions was 32.9 percent compared to 34.2 percent in 2014.

The volume of transactions in technological equipment leasing amounted to 30.6 percent (27.7 percent in 2014), motor vehicles - 19.8 percent (24.4 percent) and real estate - 16.7 percent (13.7 percent).

Some 90 lessors, including 24 banks and 64 leasing companies worked on the country's leasing market in 2015.

Uzagroleasing (273.1 billion UZS), Uzavtopromlizing (50.8 billion UZS), Uzbek Leasing International (68.2 billion UZS), Uzmeliomashlizing (53 billion UZS) and Qurilish-Lizing (23.1 billion UZS) are the biggest participants of the market among the leasing companies as of 2015.

Asaka State Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (49.8 billion UZS), Joint-Stock Commercial Mortgage Bank (17.9 billion UZS), Trustbank (14.7 billion UZS), Hamkorbank (12.8 billion UZS) and KDB (28.8 billion UZS) are among the most active commercial banks in the area of leasing services.

The customs duties on import of modern technological equipment on lease terms were abolished in Uzbekistan. The leasing payments were exempt from VAT and lessees - from taxes on leased property. The legal entities rendering leasing services were exempt from paying an income tax and a single tax payment in the area of leasing.
