Iran says to boost non-oil export 25% by March

Iran is aiming to boost its non-oil export by $10 billion by March, aiming to register an annual export of $50 billion, the country's Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said.

He said it is aimed that by the deadline, Iran's industrial, mineral, and petrochemical export hit $38 billion, agricultural export reach $5 billion, and gas condensates export amount to $7 billion, IRIB news agency reported May 29.

Iran's condensate exports accounted for $6.66 billion during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20), indicating a huge fall by 52.4 percent, the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI), said.

Tehran exported 15.95 million tons of condensates during the 12 months, 16.6 percent less year on year. Condensate exports shared 15.7 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports during the period.

Gas condensate, also known as ultra-light oil, shared about one fourth of the country's total non-oil exports in the fiscal year to March 2015 and stood at $14 billion. Iran includes this raw oil material in its non-oil export basket.

Iran's trade balance over the first two months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-May 21) stood at $1.1 billion, the Iranian Customs Administration reported May 28.

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $6.859 billion during the first two months of the current fiscal year, indicating a fall by 14.7 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

The exported goods were mainly raw material, as gas condensates(worth $1.09 billion), petroleum gases and gas hydrocarbons($272 million), iron and steel products(($247 million), liquefied propane($237 million) and bitumen($201 million) topped the list of country's exports.

China, the UAE, Iraq, South Korea and India were the top Iranian goods importers during the 2-month period.
