Taiwanese Acer company's computers will be produced on the basis of the KUR Mingachevir plant for computer equipment production, a source on the IT-market told Trend Jan. 7.
"The sides are discussing the deployment of Acer computer production at the KUR facilities," a statement says. "The results of the negotiations will be announced by late January."
Azerbaijani leading IT-companies, offering products and service equipment of this vendor, will be involved in the cooperation.
The computer production will be based on Intel processors and chips.
KUR plant is a joint venture of the Teleradio production association under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan and IT-company Sinam. KUR was established in 2005. It is the only company engaged in assembly-line production of computers and electronics in South Caucasus.
