Process of forming working groups under preparation of the state strategy on use of alternative and renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan for 2012-2020 will finish soon, Deputy Head of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources Jamil Melikov told Trend on Friday.
He said establishment of 4 working groups is planned under the preparation of strategy.
"Process of forming working groups will end within few next days," Mr Melikov said.
Preparation of strategy on use of alternative and renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan for 2012-2020 and organization of work under this strategy will allow the country to reach 20 per cent share of alternative energy in total volume of energy consumption by 2020.
The president of Azerbaijan signed an order on preparation within 6 months of the state strategy on use of alternative and renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan for 2012-2020.
The order envisages allocation of one million manat to the state agency under the ministry of industry and energy of Azerbaijan from the reserve fund of the Azerbaijani state budget for 2011.
Mr Melikov said earlier this strategy will make it possible to plan and build strategic line of development of alternative energy of Azerbaijan till 2020. 2020 is not an accidental choice since by this time the European Union plans to reach a 20-per cent share of alternative energy in total volume of energy consumption. After the preparation of the strategy all necessary work will be carried out in the country to achieve maximum development of alternative energy by 2020.
