Azerbaijan ranked 81st in the energy sustainability index rank of the World Energy Congress among 129 countries of the world. Ranking is available on the official website of the Congress.
According to the report of the World Energy Congress, the index ranks countries on the basis of comparable analysis of the energy situation in the country and is based on three factors: energy security, energy equity and environmental sustainability.
Depending on the achievements in each dimension, the countries were given scores from A to D.
Azerbaijan got BCD rating.
According to the report, in terms of energy security indexes, Azerbaijan ranked 32nd outstripping other South Caucasus countries: Armenia (95) and Georgia (106).Turkey ranked 64th in the list on this index.
Azerbaijan ranked 74th in the accessibility and affordability of energy supply across the population rank and 98th in the environmental sustainability index.
Five countries - Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, the UK and Spain - got AAA rating with the highest scores on all three dimensions.
The World Energy Council is the agency accredited under the UN and brings together the leaders and experts in the sphere of energy, promoting accessible, stable and environmentally friendly energy systems.
