Azerbaijan decreases electricity export in Jan.

Azerbaijan exported 9.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity in January 2014 according to a customs declaration compared to 11.34 million kilowatt hours in January 2013, the Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee reported

Azerbaijan exported electricity totaling $557,780 in January compared to $677,970 in the same period of 2013.

Azerbaijan exported over 595.67 million kilowatt hours of electricity according to a customs declaration in 2013 compared to 482.7 million kilowatt hours in 2012. Azerbaijan exported electricity totaling $24.85 million in 2013 compared to about $24.76 million in 2012.

The power stations of Azerenergy JSC (engaged in the production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) generated 2.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January 2014 compared to over 2.1 billion kilowatt hours in January 2013.

The capacity of power plants owned by Azerenergy JSC exceeds 6,000 megawatts. The JCS has over 200 substations with capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kV / amp, as well as eight hydroelectric plants and 13 thermal power plants.
