Kazakhstan, Astana, March 5 /Trend D. Mukhtarov/
The scale of illegal immigration to Kazakhstan has reached 300,000 annually, the minister of economy and budget planning Erbolat Dosaev said during the government hour in the Majilis (parliament), on Monday.
"The struggle against illegal migration will become one of the main directions of government activity," Desaev stated.
According to him, a bill 'on amendments and supplements to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of labour migration' has already been submitted to the Majilis.
This document provides legalisation and improvement of the attraction procedure of labour migrants to Kazakhstan and regulation of individual income tax of immigrants in work.
The bill clearly determines the areas in which those foreign citizens will be able to receive a permit to work.
"In order to improve the action against illegal immigration we have to develop a complex plan providing amendments to the legislation in the sphere of immigration control and improvement of interagency action with the relevant authorities of foreign countries on the issues of counteraction to illegal immigration," Dosaev noted.
Amendments to the law 'on state control and supervision' on the issue of the inspection procedures in the sphere of immigration control are also expected according to Dosaev.
