Kazakh president says radically new world development project required

Astana, Kazakhstan, May 24
By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev thinks that a radically new world development project is required.

President Nazarbayev made this statement at the plenary session of the seventh Astana Economic Forum.

"The beginning of the 21st century turned out to be full of threats and new challenges despite the hopes for improving world order," the president said. "The global crisis, which began six years ago, is still observed. It only grows every year. Mankind is expecting a radically new world development project. I spoke about this in 2009 in my articles "Keys to the crisis" and "The Fifth Way". Time shows that this is the crisis of the entire old model of the world growth. Afterwards, the new world must appear."

At present, it is necessary to provide the G-GLOBAL project with dynamism, to create a single intellectual framework. It is necessary to combine all ideas and opinions voiced during the Astana Economic Forum. Afterwards, it is important to classify this unique knowledge by topics, years and authors, analyze them for dissemination and discussion in the media, social networks and scientific works. It is also required to create a list of proposals to be presented from the UN at all other economic and political forums.

"I hope that this forum will contribute to the international debate on the development and creation of conditions for inclusive growth in the world," the president said. "Its members will play an important role in shaping the UN agenda in development after 2015 and reaching new goals of sustainable development."
