Rahmat Mamatov, who previously served as the deputy interior minister of Uzbekistan, has been approved as the first deputy minister and chief of the Criminal Investigation and Counter-Terrorism Department, by a decree of Uzbek President Islam Karimov, according to the ministry's website.
Bakhodir Kurbanov was approved as the deputy interior minister, in line with another presidential decree.
It should be noted that in December 2013, the Uzbek president signed decrees on the dismissal of Interior Minister Bahodir Matlyubov with regard to his retirement and appointment of Major General Adham Ahmedbaev to this post. Ahmedbaev previously served as the first deputy interior minister.
