Iranian researchers have designed a manned spacecraft model, ISNA news agency reported.

According to the report, researchers of the Iranian Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology have programmed an algorithm of a manned spacecraft's design system using parametrical and statistical models.

The spacecraft named 'Friendship' would carry up to three astronauts on a mission lasting three days.

The 'Friendship's' weight is five tons and its length and diameter reaches five and 2.5 metres respectively.

The spacecraft's altitude level will reach some 330 kilometres.

The programmer of the spacecraft design algorithm, Leyla Khalajzadeh said that realising the plan in Iran needs the achievement of advanced technology regarding the issue in the country.

It may be realised during the next five or 10 years, she said.
