Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani in a phone conversation with Iraqi prime minister Nuri Al-Maliki discussed the latest developments in Iraq as well as the solutions for uprooting terrorism in this Arab country.

Iran's president Hassan Rouhani in a phone conversation with Iraqi prime minister Nuri Al-Maliki discussed the latest developments in Iraq as well as the solutions for uprooting terrorism in this Arab country.

In this phone conversation on June 12, Rouhani stressed the necessity for fighting terrorism and violence and condemned the recent crimes by terrorists in killing the innocent people of Iraq, Iran's IRNA news agency reported.

The Iranian president further emphasized on backing the Iraqi government and nation, adding that Iran will do its utmost efforts in international and regional fields to confront terrorism and will not allow the supporters of terrorists to disrupt security and stability of Iraq through exporting terrorism to this country.

The Iraqi prime minister, for his part, appreciated Iran's efforts for supporting the Iraqi nation in international and regional scenes and briefed Rouhani on the latest developments in northern Iraq and the success of the Iraqi government in suppressing the terrorists.
