Euro, British pound prices fall significantly at Iran’s forex center

Euro was sold at the price of 33,386 rials at Iran's forex center on Oct. 4.

US dollar was presented at the price of 26,679 rials, while British pound was traded at 42,597 rials, IRNA news agency said.

Euro, British pound and US dollar were traded at the prices of 33,753, 43,294, and 26,673 rials on Oct. 2.

US dollar was sold at the price of 32,370 rials at the free market on October 4, while Euro and British pound were presented at the price of 41,700, and 52,700 rials, respectively.

Iran's forex center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

It allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibres to buy dollars at a rate of 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

The forex center has the capacity to trade over $100 million each working day, according to the center's spokesman, Samad Karimi.
