Iran’s non-oil trade surpasses $8B in Jan. 2015

Iran's non-oil trade turnover (excluding condensates) surpassed $8.2 billion during the first month of current year.

The country's non-oil exports stood at $3.241 billion during the period, 25.93 percent more compared January 2014, Iranian Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released March 2.

Iran also imported about $4.959 billion worth of goods during the period, which indicates a rise by 2.91 percent in value.

Imports shared 60.47 percent of Iran 's total non-oil trade during the period, meanwhile the figure stood at 65.18 percent in preceding year.

Iran's trade balance with 63 countries was positive, while with 64 countries it was negative.

Iran had the highest positive trade balance with Iraq ($525 million), Afghanistan ($162 million), Kuwait ($93 million), Turkmenistan ($93 million) and Pakistan ($83 million).

Tehran also registered the highest negative trade balance with the United Arab Emirates ($750 million), China ($582 million), South Korea ($348 million), Switzerland ($330 million), and Germany ($199 million).

Liquefied propane (worth $153 million), methanol (worth $142 million) and liquefied butane ($126 million) were the main items exported.

China ($672 million worth of imports), Iraq ($529 million), the UAE ($398 million), India ($292 million) and Turkey ($205 million) were the top importers of Iranian goods during the mentioned period.

Meanwhile China ($1.254 billion worth of exports) the UAE ($1.148 billion), South Korea ($403 million), Turkey ($356 million) and India ($335 million) were the leading exporters of goods to Iran.

Wheat (worth $217 million with share of 4.38 percent from total imports' value), motor vehicles with internal combustion engine (worth $210 million and share of 4.23 percent) and corn fodder (worth $187 million and 3.77 percent of total imports' value) were the main imported goods during January 2015.

Iran's overall non-oil trade turn over stood at $90.297 billion in 2014.

The figure indicates a 16.42 percent rise in comparison with the $77.557 billion trade turn over during 2013.

Imports shared 61.49 percent of Iran 's total non-oil trade during the period, meanwhile the figure stood at 59.92 percent in preceding year.
