Industrial products share 34% of Iran’s exports

Industrial products shared 34 percent of Iran’s exports in terms of value during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Nov. 21, 2016), said the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

The value of Iran's industrial exports accounted for $9.596 billion, during the period, 3 percent more year-on-year. Iran exported 21.984 million tons of industrial products, indicating a rise by 4.5 percent compared to the first eight month of preceding year (March 20-Nov. 21, 2015).

Iran’ petrochemical exports decreased by 2 percent to $8.625 billion during the 8-month period. The volume of the petrochemical exports registered a rise by 23 percent to 19.045 million tons in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.

Iran exported 11.51 million tons of gas condensate, worth $4.519 billion in the period, which indicates a 76-percent and a 47-percent increase in volume and value respectively, year-on-year.

Iran's total non-oil exports (including the gas condensate) stood at $28.117 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, which indicates a 5.7-percent increase.

Therefore, the share of the gas condensate, also known as ultra-light oil from total non-oil exports stood at 16.1 percent, while petrochemical products shared 30.7 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports in the eight months.

The Islamic Republic also exported $2.418 billion worth of agricultural products (no change from the preceding year) and $219 million worth of handicrafts and hand-made carpets (14 percent increase) in the 8-month period.

Agricultural products shared 8.6 percent of the country’s overall exports in terms of value.

Iran exported over 17.42 million tons of mineral products, valued at $788 million, during the period as well. The country’s minerals export increased by 37 percent in terms of value and 44 percent in terms of volume year-on-year.

Mineral products shared 2.8 percent of the Islamic Republic’s total exports in terms of value.
