Turkmenistan's cooperation with the United States "has been and remains a strategic vector of the our foreign policy," Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov said today.
The president made the statement while receiving U.S. Charge d'Affaires to Turkmenistan Sylvia Reed Curran, who recently ended his diplomatic mission to the country, a state press service reported.
He stressed that "our trustworthy relations have grown from year to year, and have allowed us to raise bilateral dialogue to a qualitatively new level of mutual interest."
The two countries are implementing several joint projects in the fuel and energy, health, education and agriculture sectors.
Curran emphasized that "the national investment climate and the favorable environment for foreign businesses attracts large U.S. companies to the promising Turkmen market."
