OSCE observation mission for presidential election arrives in Azerbaijan

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) mission sent to observe the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan has arrived in Baku, OSCE/ODIHR told Trend on Monday.

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) mission sent to observe the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan has arrived in Baku, OSCE/ODIHR told Trend on Monday.

According to the organisation, the observation mission consists of 280 people. Currently, the process of distribution of observers to various regions is on-going and they will become familiar with the polling stations on October 8.

Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9.

Previous presidential elections were held on October 15, 2008. The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are held every five years.
