Children celebrate Earth Day in U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan

Pupils of Baku International School today celebrated the Earth Day, planting seedlings in the yard of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, the U.S. Embassy in our country said.

Pupils of Baku International School today celebrated the Earth Day, planting seedlings in the yard of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, the U.S. Embassy in our country said.

Children jointly with Charge d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Baku Donald Lu  planted seedlings of trees. The employees informed the children about the importance of environmental conservation and recycling.

"Earth Day reminds us that the most important thing we can do is to explain to our children how to save the environment," - Donald Lu said.

The Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 in the USA for the first time. This day became known as the environment day with increasing interest in the environment.

The President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama said that gardening is an important part of the social program on environment and health.
