The Azerbaijani state budget was executed with a surplus in January 2017.

Azerbaijan’s state budget revenues reached 1,243.6 million manat, while expenses – 924.9 million manat in January 2017, the country’s State Statistics Committee said citing the finance ministry.

As a result, the state budget deficit was estimated at 318.7 million manat.

The law on state budget for 2016 envisages the revenues worth 16.822 billion manat, expenses worth 18.495 billion manat and deficit not exceeding 1.673 billion manat for the entire year.

The country’s State Customs Committee transferred almost 174 million manat to the state budget in January 2017, which is by 52 percent more than in the same period of 2016.

Some 48.05 million manat account for customs duties, 117.7 million manat - VAT, 5.7 million manat - excise and 2.5 million manat - road tax in January 2017.

The country’s State Customs Committee doubled the customs duties and road tax receipts in January 2017 compared to January 2016. VAT receipts increased by 53.1 percent, while excise receipts - by 2.7 times.

The forecast on customs revenues to the Azerbaijani state budget for 2017 is 2.2 billion manat.

The country’s Ministry of Taxes transferred 544.85 million manat to the state budget in January 2017, which by 12 percent more than the forecast.

The revenues worth 7.51 billion manat are expected to be obtained through the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes in 2017, which is 46.2 percent of the total budget revenues.

The revenues of the Azerbaijani state budget for 2017 were set in the amount of 16.255 billion manat, while expenses - 16.9 billion manat. Budget forecasts are formed on the basis of the oil price at $40 per barrel.
