Turkmenistan, Czech Republic boost inter-parliamentary relations

A Czech delegation headed by chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions of the Senate of the Czech Republic Jaromir Ermar is in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said.

The delegation held a series of meetings in the parliament, Foreign Ministry and the Turkmen Ministry of Education and Culture.

"The delegation focused on the development of close interaction through inter-parliamentary relations," the report says.

The report says that "in the parliament the sides exchanged views on further expanding the effective long-standing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic, successfully developing both through bilateral cooperation and within Turkmenistan-EU dialogue".

The guests were acquainted with essential aspects of Turkmenistan's state policy, as well as the goals and tasks of large-scale reforms and reform programs implemented in the country.

"Stressing the desire to boost a full-scale cooperation with Turkmenistan, which gained a high international reputation as an extremely promising and reliable partner, Czech Parliament's representative expressed his country's interest in the intensification of productive bilateral dialogue," the report says.

The sides also discussed partnership in education and science.
