Iranian scientists produced a new unmanned aerial vehicle "A1", Mehr News Agency quotes the A1 Building Plan Executive Manager Mehdi Iraji as saying on Monday.

The A1 unmanned aerial vehicle can fly up to 10,000 foot height and carry about 5 kg of load for two hours.

This 50-kg UAV is equipped with sensitive-sensors camera for color, chemical materials and voice.

Iran enjoys several type of drones. The Iranian Pardiz Technology Organization announced last November that it has built a new multifunctional UAV for military and civil usage.

The "Shirdal" UAV has a total weight of 30 kilogram and the most payload capacity of 10 kilogram. The plane is capable of reaching 200 kilometer/h and ascending to a maximum height of 12,000 feet.

The plane uses two types fuel - gasoline and special aircraft oil. The production cost of one UAV reaches $50.000.

Iran unveiled its first domestically-manufactured UAV named Karrar in a ceremony marking Defense Industry Day on August 22, 2010.

The country also inaugurated the production line of two domestically-built UAVs with bombing and reconnaissance capabilities on the same occasion.

The two hi-tech drones named 'Ra'd' (Thunder) and 'Nazir' (Harbinger) are capable of performing long-range reconnaissance, patrolling, assault and bombing missions with high precision.

Iran also successfully tested a home-made radar-evading UAV in June 2009.
