OPEC released a new monthly report on June 12 about member's crude oil output, saying Iran's oil production decreased again by 72,000 barrels in May compared to April and fell to 3.138 million barrels per day.
According to OPEC report based on secondary sources (OPEC's own resources and credible international organizations' stats ), Iran's daily oil output has fallen from 3.706 mbpd to 3.138 mbpd since 2010.
However, Iran has as usual denied oil production drop. Statistical data that Iran's Oil Ministry submitted to OPEC shows that Iran produced about 3.760 mbpd in May.
Iran is OPEC's second oil producer after Saudi Arabia. According to OPEC's report, Iraq, Nigeria, Qatar, UAE, Angola, Algeria, decreased oil production by 42,000, 48, 000, 20,000, 8,200, 39,200 and 20,000 bpd respectively in May compared to April.
Other members including Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Libya, Kuwait and Ecuador increased oil production by 39,7000, 16,700, 57,500, 69,200 and 9,700 bpd during the same period.
The figures show that OPEC total output was 31.582 mbpd in May, indicating 57,800 barrels cut compared to April.
